Từ mới chưa từng có trong từ điển

Xin giới thiệu 9 từ mới xuất hiện, chưa đưa vào các cuốn từ điển nhưng khá thông dụng trên sách báo tiếng Anh.

1) Baggravation: Cảm giác bực mình, khó chịu khi đứng đợi hành lý bên cạnh băng chuyền tại sân bay (kết hợp từ bag và aggravation).
Ví dụ: Nancy couldn’t help but feel baggravation as she watched other passengers get their luggage and leave the airport.

2) Big-eyed: Không đói mà thấy thức ăn cũng ham.
Ví dụ: If I see food, I want to eat it. I’m so big-eyed.

3) Carjacking: Cướp xe (bắt chước từ hijacking – không tặc)
Ví dụ: A carjacking at the corner of cherry Lane and the interstate 30 access road has left local residents shocked.

4) Fantabulous: Trên cả tuyệt vời. Kết hợp giữa fantastic và fabulous.
Ví dụ: This fantabulous four-poster bed can be yours.

5) 411: Thông thạo, rành mọi chuyện. Từ số điện thoại của Mỹ tương tự như 1080 của Việt Nam.
Ví dụ: Here’s the 411 on the fishing trip.

6) Garden burger: Bánh hamburger không thịt.
Ví dụ: The garden burger is a healthy alternative to a hamburger.

7) Shopgrifting: Xài chùa, mua hàng dùng trong vòng 30 ngày rồi trả lại để được hoàn tiền.
Ví dụ: His shopgrifting is totally shameless.
Snail mail: Thư thường, thư gửi theo đường bưu điện (đối chọi với email).
Ví dụ: More and more companies and individuals are looking to e-mail as an alternative to the traditional means of sending information and documents, snail mail.

9) Vertically - challenged: Lùn, thấp.
Ví dụ: Don’t call him short, he’s vertically - challenged.
